Elections

Our elections

Open, fair and easy to follow. Here is how every step works.

There is no election open right now. When the committee announces one, its status and closing time will appear here.
Step by step

How it works

  1. Nominations

Members declare interest in a position and pay the interest form fee. Once the payment is confirmed they are added to the ballot automatically.

  2. Voting

Voting stays open for a few days. You choose a candidate for each position, or abstain, then review and submit.

  3. Runoff if tied

A tie sends the tied candidates to a short runoff. If they are still tied, lots are drawn with the committee present.

  4. Results

Results are published to members, and the winners are sworn in as the new executive.

The rules in plain words

Fair to every member

  • Only members approved by the electoral committee can stand or vote.
  • To vote, your dues must be at least partly paid, as the association has agreed.
  • One vote for each position. Once you submit, your vote is final.
  • Positions with a single candidate are filled without a vote.
  • Your vote is recorded against your name and visible only to the electoral committee, whose every action is logged.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Who can vote?

Every member the electoral committee has approved, whose dues are recorded as at least partly paid. You can check your status on your member dashboard.

How do I stand for a position?

When nominations open, go to the election page on the portal, choose a position, add a short statement and pay the interest form fee. You can pay online or by bank transfer. When the payment is confirmed, you are on the ballot.

What if I pay after nominations close?

Nominations close for everyone at the same time. A payment that arrives afterwards cannot add you to the ballot, and the committee will contact you about a refund.

Can I change my vote?

No. You review your choices before submitting, and after that your vote is final.

Who can see how I voted?

Votes are recorded against the voter's name for accountability, and only the electoral committee can see them. Other members see only the final results, and every committee action is logged.

What happens if there is a tie?

The tied candidates go to a short runoff. If they are still tied afterwards, lots are drawn with the committee present and the result is recorded.
